Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, Powell has been involved with the game of golf since he was 8 years old. The First Tee was his first introduction to golf and exposed him to many opportunities; through both competition and learning from his mentor, retired touring professional Charles “Butch” Bowers. Powell began teaching at 16 years old but made it a full-time profession in 2021, where he’s been on staff at several establishments prior to landing at his favorite, Five Iron!
