Job Summary:


We are seeking a skilled and experienced Controller to join our team. Reporting to the SVP of Strategy, the Controller will be responsible for building out Five Iron’s accounting team, including managing all corporate accounting activities (month-end close process, preparation of financial statements, internal and external reporting), treasury and tax functions. The Controller will lead the annual audits.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all corporate accounting activities including the month-end close process, preparation of financial statements, internal and external reporting.
  • Manage the company's financial systems and processes to ensure accurate and timely financial information and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, laws, and standards.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information and reporting.
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and analyses for management, investors, and other stakeholders.
  • Manager our third-party Accounts Payable and Sales Tax vendors
  • Manage the company's cash flow and financial risk.
  • Oversee the annual audit process.
  • Oversee the sales tax

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Masters preferred.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting and financial principles and regulations.
  • Experience with financial systems and software, such as Netsuite. Netsuite experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation:

The compensation for this position will be $150,000 to $175,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, the company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, and paid time off.
