Senior Accountant

An innovative, growing company, we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to play a key role in our fast-growing finance team.

As a valuable addition to our team, you will play an important role in our fast-growing finance team. The ideal candidate is passionate about golf, restaurants or entertainment, and has a strong background in accounting with multiunit setups.

Reports to: Controller

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor revenue and expenses and ensure accurate reporting in accordance with GAAP and established corporate accounting practices.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations on a regular basis to maintain accurate financial records.
• Perform bank reconciliations; research and analyze findings to ensure accuracy of accounts.
• Perform general ledger account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and review financial statements
• Work closely with all departments to understand, correctly categorize, and control costs.
• Work closely with the payroll department to audit tips and hourly wages.
• Monitor spending for all departments to ensure proper purchase approvals and manage spending limits.
• Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions.
• Work Closely with the AP department to make sure that all payments are issued timely
• Assist with preparation of sales tax filings and other state and local tax reports
• Maintain Prepaid and Accrual Schedules
• Support the Controller in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors in Accounting required 
• 4-5 years progressively responsible experience in accounting 
• Proficiency in NetSuite required
• Experience with month-end closing processes 
• Experience with the preparation of multi-unit/multi-department financial statements
• Experience with tax filings
• Advanced knowledge of Excel Spreadsheets – macros, pivot tables, vlookups
• Payroll processing and recording experience is a plus  
• Management Experience is a plus
